ATE President-Elect
James L. Alouf
Dr. Alouf is currently a Professor of Education and Director of the Graduate Program at Sweet Briar College. He has served on ATE-VA’s Executive Board for ten years and as a state delegate to the Delegate Assembly for six years. He been active at the national level serving as the chair for the Legislative and Governmental Relations Committee for six years, co-authoring ATE’s policy framework, co-chairing the 2008 ATE Summer Conference in Washington, DC and he currently serves on the ATE Board of Directors. He will officially take office at the 2010 Annual Meeting in Chicago.
Throughout my career, my focus has been twofold. I continue to advocate for students, teachers, and teacher educators as partners in learning while working within the teacher education community to strengthen the voice of the profession.
