About the Journal

The Teacher Educators’ Journal (TTEJ) is a peer-reviewed publication by the Virginia Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators (VACTE), a state unit of the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE) and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), distributed online in the spring of each year. The journal aims to stimulate discussion and reflection about issues related to teacher education; authors need not be based in and research need not be conducted in Virginia for manuscripts to be considered for publication. For more details about manuscript submissions, please consult the information below. The most recent issue articles are available through the links below or by clicking here, while complete issue downloads are available at the bottom of the page.

Submissions

The Teacher Educators’ Journal is accepting manuscripts for its next edition. To facilitate collaboration amongst teacher education scholars and practitioners and improve teaching, research, and student learning, the theme for the Spring 2027 journal is “Teacher Retention: The Impact of Policy and Practice." This will be a special edition focused on the work of the VACTE inquiry initiative group but will consider manuscripts from authors outside of the working group.

All manuscripts must be received by November 1, 2026, for consideration for the Spring 2027 issue. Please direct all questions about the journal to askTTEJ@gmail.com.
